xMatters has policies in place in compliance with PIPEDA requirements, including but not limited to:
- Providing individuals access to personal information held by xMatters.
- Providing information as to who is responsible for collecting the personal information.
- Providing a reason why personal information is being collected.
- Providing the right to challenge the accuracy of the collected personal information.
As per the official law, businesses must follow ten fair information principles, set out in Schedule 1 of PIPEDA. xMatters SaaS has undergone an independent third-party audit to ensure we are fully compliant with all ten principles.
The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) is the federal privacy law for private-sector organizations in Canada. PIPEDA is designed to keep Canada’s notification requirements consistent with the country’s trading partners, namely the European Union. Any private enterprise in Canada that collects personal information during commercial activity is subject to PIPEDA.
