xMatters and the Australian Privacy Act

In 1988, Australia introduced the Privacy Act to promote and protect the privacy of individuals and to regulate how Australian government agencies and other organizations handle personal information. This Privacy Act includes 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) applicable to private organizations.

Does xMatters comply with Australian Law?

xMatters is complaint with all APP requirements. xMatters has undergone an independent third-party audit to ensure we fully comply with all these principles.

The Australian Privacy Principles are principles-based law, giving xMatters flexibility to tailor personal information handling practices to its business models and the diverse needs of individuals. xMatters has crafted a strategy to comply with all 13 Australian Privacy Principles, including but not limited to the following:

  • Collection, use, and disclosure of personal information
  • Governance and accountability
  • Rights of individuals to access their personal information
