What matters to me?

“I’m not just responsible for nurturing our quickly growing company; I’m also the coach in charge of psyching up our team and driving towards victory — for both our company and our clients. My focus is on helping the team to consistently match our products and services to the needs of our clients. Happy clients and happy “xPerts” is what matters to me."

Troy brings a wealth of experience to his leadership role at xMatters. Prior to founding xMatters, formerly AlarmPoint Systems, he served as the President & COO and COO & CFO of two successful start-ups, where he oversaw all marketing, sales, development, M&A and financial aspects of the companies. Previously, Troy was a Strategic Management Consultant with AT&T Solutions and Andersen, where he gained insight into enterprise priorities and structures. His expertise also includes process automation, strategic initiatives, and corporate strategy. Troy's domain experience includes IT Service Management, IT Strategy, and several vertical markets including high technology, banking and finance, consumer, and retail industries. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from California State University at Sacramento.

“I’m responsible for looking into my crystal ball and anticipating what our clients want and need, before they need it. As the leader of our global sales operations and our advisors, I make the magic happen — I help create solutions that transform the way our clients do business. Spreading the benefits of xMatters around the world by delivering the innovative solutions our clients need to stay competitive is what matters to me.

Rick provides over 20 years of senior sales experience in Enterprise Software to xMatters. He has consistently been a top-performing executive, both as VP of Sales at HP and as Area Vice President responsible for the Western Region and Latin America at Mercury Interactive. Prior to Mercury, he was a top Sales Director and Senior Account Executive at Oracle and EMC. Rick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington.

What matters to me?

"I’m responsible for making sure that our clients are happy with our products. We put smiles on their faces starting on day one, and I make sure those smiles never turn into frowns. Helping our clients stay relevant, profitable, and competitive by using our products is what matters to me.

Prior to joining xMatters, Nick spent almost four years as the Senior Manager of Spend Visibility at Ariba Software, where he helped build their first on-demand business from the ground up. Additionally, he has held the positions of Director of Support Operations at Vignette and Director of Worldwide Support at OnDisplay, where he helped drive the company to IPO. Nick holds a B.S. in Materials Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.

“I’m responsible for making all the pieces fit – I match our product with our clients’ needs. My job is to help our clients put the puzzle together to reveal the benefits of using our relevance engines across their organization. Successfully building the big picture by providing the right product pieces for our clients is what matters to me.

Recognized as an industry pioneer in automation and communications solutions, Desi lends valuable expertise to his leadership role in product development at xMatters. During his 20-year tenure in the Enterprise Systems Management industry, he successfully implemented large-scale automation initiatives at Bank of America, ROLM Communications, Siemens Business Communications, and IBM San Jose. Desi has led efforts in IT notification and response technologies. He often speaks on the topic of Automation Initiatives in Computer Operations, Data Center Automation, Help Desk Operations, Systems Support, Database Administration, Network Operations, and Data Center Layout and Design.

What matters to me?

“I’m the brains behind the development of new relevance engines, so I have to stay on top of changes in technology business, while considering the impact of these changes on our clients. I eat, sleep, and breathe relevance engines, and I’m always thinking of ways to build solutions that are relevant and responsive. Creating relevance engines that make our clients matter more to their customers is what matters to me.

Tobias joined xMatters in 2005 after spending over six years in software development, team leadership, consulting, architecture, recruiting, and training. Using his background in distributed computing, scalability, and optimization on the Java Platform to grow within xMatters, he has evolved from an individual contributor to VP of Engineering. Tobias graduated with honors from the University of Victoria with a bachelor’s degree in Combined Computer Science and Mathematics.

What matters to me?

"Spreading the gospel. That means in depth workshops with clients to map out quantitative and qualitative benefits of using relevance engines for different parts of their business – IT, disaster recovery, business continuity, customer communications, or any other business process. Working with analysts, media, and speaking at industry events rounds out what I do. Discovering and sharing real world stories of the value of relevance engines to our clients is what matters to me.

Abbas brings over 15 years of experience across a wide range of domains including systems engineering, product management and strategy, technical marketing and sales. As the Vice President of Technology Evangelism, Abbas is responsible for promoting the use of relevance engines across all markets through analyst and media relations, public speaking, publishing and blogging. He also spends time working with clients to map out the value that a relevance engine will provide in their environment. As a recognized thought leader in IT management and BCM he is a frequent speaker and author on providing relevant information to the right people at the right time. Previously, Abbas was the VP of Product Strategy at Managed Objects (now Novell BSM), and AVP of Pre-Sales Engineering at OPNET Technologies. What matters to me?

“I’m the middle man who shouldn’t be cut out − I work with clients and prospects to understand their challenges; then I work with our engineering team to develop solutions. I help our clients figure out what they need in order to be relevant to their customers, and then speed them towards long term success with our products. Grasping both the challenges our clients face and the technology we can offer to meet their needs is what matters to me.

Doug’s role as Vice President of Product Management is backed by over 15 years of experience in system architecture, product management, and engineering. Doug has worked for enterprise software firms specializing in ERP, ETL/EAI, and content management, and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences worldwide. His background includes systems architect responsibilities at PeopleSoft, Vignette, and OnDisplay, as well as technical presales management for Softface and AlarmPoint and product management at Ariba. Doug holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

What matters to me?

“In short, money. I’m responsible for financial operations and risk management for xMatters. Keeping our business foundation strong, sustainable, and stable is my reason for getting out of bed in the morning. Creating a solid financial future for xMatters and our clients and partners is what matters to me.

Simon joined xMatters in 2006 with 15 years of software and technology experience in both accounting and analytical roles with small and medium-sized companies. He is the former vice president and controller at Evant, Inc., a provider of application software for supply chain management, which was acquired by Manhattan Associates of Atlanta. Previously, Simon worked for the publicly-traded QRS Corporation as the Director of Finance, Planning and Analysis. Prior to QRS, he served in various roles at Dun & Bradstreet Software and HCC, Inc. Simon earned a bachelor's degree in international management and an MBA in finance from Golden Gate University and is a certified management accountant.
