xMatters Appoints New VP of Corporate and Global Business Development

Leader in Cloud Communications Strengthens Executive Team To Support New Growth, Continue Global Expansion

SAN RAMON – April 30, 2015 – xMatters, inc., a leader in communication-enabled business processes, today announced that it has named Mike Desai vice president of corporate and global business development. Mike joins xMatters with the task of growing strategic alliances, managing new customer acquisitions and expanding business into new global markets and territories.

Mike brings more than 20 years of experience building successful companies and partner programs, joining xMatters from Ping Identity where he served as vice president of global business development and channel programs. At Ping, Mike was part of the leadership team that grew the company from 50 customers to more than 1,200, and instituted a successful global partner program leveraging VARs, SaaS and strategies to accelerate growth of net new customers – which resulted in 100 percent year-over-year growth.

Prior to Ping, Mike was a strategic advisor for a number of Boston startups, including RealtyLog, in addition to serving as a board member in the software division for SIIA. Before that, Mike spent six years at Phoenix Controls, which was acquired by Honeywell, Inc. in 1998, where he worked his way up from applications architect to head of business development.

Mike is a graduate of Boston University with a B.S. in computer science, and holds a U.S. patent for wireless hash sensing technology.
