Hope for the best, prepare for the worst
Our relevance engines let you create an unlimited number of pre-built templates. These can come in pretty handy. You can’t predict everything, but you can make some pretty educated guesses on situations that may affect your business. For those of us on the west coast, it’s probably a safe bet to say we should have a plan for earthquakes. Likewise in the southeast for hurricanes. There are some things you can reasonably expect and prepare for, and that’s what we help you do. After all, isn't it better to craft your messages when you aren't in panic mode?
If its something you’ve got to plan for, you should have it pre-built so it's ready and waiting when the time comes for you to use it. Account for who’s going to get the message, what the content looks like, what’s editable, what’s not. All of your scenarios can have different messages for different stakeholders and audiences so when the worst happens, you're ready to communicate to everyone.
Twice yearly fire drills are required for most industries. Unlike other vendors, we offer two types of tests modes. We have a test mode built into every scenario so you can test just with yourself, and a test mode where everything will kick off the same way it would in a real emergency, except “this is just a test” is added up front.
There is going to be a time when you have to pull the alarm. If it’s ready to go as a pre-built scenario, the people that are authorized to initiate the scenario, can do it from anywhere. Seriously - the web, a smartphone, a tablet. If all you’ve got is a phone line, you can call in and kick it off using an automated system and touch-tones. Or, you can call a live operator to have them initiate it for you.
Nothing ever goes as planned. You have the parts of your scenarios that are fixed and the parts that you want people with the right level of authority to change. Depending on the security level each person is granted, some may change the message itself, others may change who it goes to.
xMatters does quite a few thing differently from other notification vendors, and our granular security is one of the biggest differentiators. You can decide who can look at each scenario, who can kick off scenrios and what they can modify, if anything. xMatters gives you control.
"Spray and pray" isn't exactly the best method to use to ensure your messages are delivered to the right people at the right time in an emergency. We've tied reporting and metrics into every aspect of our relevance engines so you always know what's working, and what isn't. Having a complete audit trail of your entire process means you'll have answers when the regulators come to your door.
